Six-storey building collapses in Huruma estate as floods hit Kenyan capital, Three dead. People from about “150 households” were taking shelter in a nearby village, the aid group said, amid what it called “chaotic scenes”.

Many people are feared trapped, possibly killed, in the collapsed six-storey residential building that is located in Ngei Ward in Mathare Constituency.

Kenya Red Cross communications manager Arnolda Shiundu said ‘it was a complete building collapse’ and that the scene on the ground is chaotic as crowds build up around and on the rubble.

Ms Shiundu said the security services are onsite to restore order and help ensure the safe retrieval of trapped residents
