Lincoln Waweru death & funeral

It is with deep sorrow that Nelson Waweru and family announce the passing on of their son Lincoln Waweru after a long battle with cancer. Lincoln was born in Nairobi on September 14, 1992 and died on July 11, 2015 at the Humber River Hospital, in Ontario.

Lincoln arrived in Canada from Kenya in December of 2005. In 2007, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor and treated at The Hospital for Sick Children. Since then he has been in and out of hospital. Despite his condition, he lived a normal life and completed his high school diploma at St. Joan of Arc in 2010. He then joined Seneca College to study Child and Youth Work. He continued with his studies for two years until he fell ill in January of this year [2015].

Despite his condition, Lincoln loved helping others. He volunteered at the Maple Health Centre and also worked with the municipality of Vaughan where he assisted children with disabilities. His motto was ‘it is better to try than to cry’.

Visitation for Lincoln will be on Tuesday July 21, 2015 at 4 p.m – 8 p.m; Colaricci Daudlin Tauro Funeral Home, 211 McNaughton Road East, Maple, Ontario, Canada. Funeral home Phone #. (905) 303-4400.
