Several children approached by strangers in Scarborough area, Toronto – Police

Toronto police are asking parents to warn their kids about strangers after they received three separate complaints this month about children being approached in Scarborough.

On June 3, children at a school near Kingston and McCowan roads said they were approached by a man and woman, who asked them to go for a car ride.

Later that day, after school, two men in a van reportedly drove up to a child on a bike and asked him if he wanted to play video games with them in the van.

Then on June 8, a child was walking to school in the same area, when he said he was approached by a man and asked if he needed a ride.

In all three cases, the children declined and immediately told a teacher and police. No one was harmed.

The first vehicle was a gold, silver or brown four-door and the man and woman had black hair.

The second was an older-model white cube van with a sliding door. The driver and passenger were white men, aged 40 to 50. One was bald with a beard and black pants. The other had spiked black hair, blue jeans and a grey T-shirt with a skull on the front.

The third was a white van with no windows in the back. The driver was a white man in his 40s with a “man bun.”

Police are asking anyone with information to call them at 416-808-4300 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
