Kenyan film Lusala featuring at Canada’s largest Black Film Festival

Despite the current circumstances, the 16th edition of the Montreal International Black Film Festival (Canada’s largest Black film festival) is taking place online for the first time ever, from September 23rd to October 4th, 2020.

This year, Wakenya Canada is thrilled to be co-presenting Lusala, a film by Mugambi Nthiga.

Lusala, adopted by an affluent Nairobi family a decade ago is imposed on to leave home and start on his own. Eager and willing at first, he makes the most of his life, until the demons from his past return, and he faces them on his own.

The Montreal International Black Film Festival is a a yearly event that aims to stimulate the development of the independent film industry while fostering the creation of films on Black realities around the globe.
