Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to set up regional HQ in Nairobi
President William Ruto hosted American billionaire Bill Gates for talks at State House in Nairobi.
During the discussions Wednesday, Gates stated that his Foundation will set up regional headquarters in Nairobi to handle issues of Health, Agriculture and ICT.
Ruto commended the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which is co-chaired by the Microsoft owner, for its support to Kenya in various areas such as healthcare and agriculture.
Bill Gates arrived in Kenya on Tuesday for a series of engagements and kicked off his visit in Makueni County where he met Governor Mutula Kilonzo.
He visited Makueni where he met with medical staff and community health volunteers.
Gates is tomorrow expected to grace a University of Nairobi Town Hall meeting where he will talk on Innovating for Food Security and Climate Change in Africa.
