Edith Mumbi, a Kenyan woman previously reported missing in Dubai is dead
Many questions raised as another Kenyan dies in the Middle East under mysterious circumstances and her body left to lie in the mortuary for almost a month before next of kin is notified (Wakenya Canada Editor’s note).

It’s with great sadness I announce the news, our Kenyan Sister Mumbi is no more. Peris Njambi her cousin/best friend back in Kenya and close to Mumbi’s family broke the news to me.
The Ministry Of Foreign Affairs contacted the family today and here is the report:
- On May 10th, a gang of thieves/murderers attacked the family she was working for in Dubai.
- Edith Mumbi in the process of trying to protect her employer’s children, got stabbed multiple times.
- She was admitted to hospital where she later died. Her body has been lying at the mortuary for nearly a month.
There are many open questions to this case:
– Mumbi was first reported “missing”; cops were calling, interrogating people and hinting on “kidnapping”.
– If she really was stabbed on the 10th trying to protect the children, how comes the employer didn’t notify anyone including the police in Dubai.Couldn’t Mumbi’s family have been informed earlier and not four weeks later? She has been in the mortuary for a month now, why file a “Missing Person’s Report” if all this happened in the employer’s house? That is the golden question.
Edith Mumbi has left behind a 4 year old daughter among other family members.
May the almighty GOD rest Mumbi in eternal peace.
