Husband divorces wife after she was too busy texting to have sex on wedding night

A man has divorced his new bride after she apparently spent their wedding night texting her friends instead of consummating the marriage.

The unnamed groom was furious with his wife for spending all her time on her phone after the couple arrived at their hotel room following the ceremony in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Despite his advances, the woman is said to have pushed him away because he was getting in the way of her replying to all the texts from well-wishers.

A relative told Saudi daily Al Watan: “The groom tried to get closer with her and more intimate, but he was shocked when she ignored him, not responding to his words and action.

“When he asked her if her friends were more important than he was, the bride answered that they were.”

The woman reportedly got angry when she was asked to stop and the pair soon got into a furious argument that eventually saw the groom demand a divorce before he stormed out.

A court referred the case to a reconciliation committee, but the husband is still reportedly demanding a divorce.
