Strong showing for Teams Kenya and Canada at Rio 2016 Paralympic Games
Congratulations to our teams from home and second home!
Canada finished the Rio Paralympics Games 2016 with 29 medals (eight gold, 10 silver, 11 bronze) to rank 14th among nations in the total medal count, surpassing the team’s performance goal of top 16.
Canada had a team of 162 athletes competing in 19 sports running September 7 to 18.
Meanwhile, Kenya’s haul of three gold, one silver and two bronze medals, gave them an great stand at position 34. This goes to show that with more investment and planning to improve Para sports in Kenya, our athletes can do even better. Incentives for performances would also encourage participation from many prospective athletes.
Proud of both these teams!!
