Afrofest Toronto Sights & Sounds
By Essie Wambui >>>>>
The weekend of July 4-5 was of great fun to people who enjoy “things African” as Toronto hosted Afrofest, the yearly event which showcases various elements of African culture from the Motherland.
Peter T. Toh, President of Music Africa Inc., organizers of Afrofest, says the event has grown to become “the largest free African festival in North America, exhibiting an amazing diversity of artists, vendors and visitors”.
With a bustling marketplace for food, African art & crafts, books, a children’s creative village, a drumming zone and two stages with live music, dance performances & a DJ between acts; Afrofest is a palatable festival that offers something for everyone.
