Patricia Kimani death and funeral

1961 - 2026

We are greatly saddened to announce the death of Patricia Wambui Kimani, fondly known as Pat. Patricia passed away on Thursday March 4, 2026 at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto, Canada, after bravely battling cancer since a diagnosis in October 2012.

Patricia was born in Murang’a to the late Nicholas Kimani and Eunice Kimani and grew up in Nairobi. She was a loving and devoted mother to 18-year-old Elizabeth Muthoni.

Patricia was educated at Muthaiga Primary, Nairobi Girls School (currently Moi Girls Nairobi), the Kenya Polytechnic and the United States International University (USIU). She worked with the Cooperative Bank for 29 years before moving to Canada in November 2018, where she has been living and working until her demise.

Patricia was dedicated to have her daughter join her in Canada, leading to Muthoni’s arrival here a year ago.  That means Muthoni is yet to root herself in her new home

An online memorial service for Patricia was held on Tuesday March 10, 2026.

A Funeral Service and visitation will be held Friday March 13, 2026 (8am – 12:30pm) at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 8911 Woodbine Avenue Markham, ON L3R 5G1. Burial will follow at Christ The King Catholic Cemetery, 7770 Steeles Ave E, Markham, ON L6B 1A8, at 1pm.

The burden of battling a chronic illness like cancer for about 14 years has been great, and we are humbly asking the community to help us raise funds towards Patricia’s farewell. We would also use some of the funds to support Muthoni as she starts to navigate life in Canada without her dear mother.

Please send your contribution via e-transfer to: Jackie Ithagu at jackieithags@gmail.com; Tel 416-725-6907.

We thank and appreciate everyone who has walked this journey with Patricia all these years. Your prayers, emotional, and material contributions have helped lighten the burden. May God abundantly bless you.

Though we mourn the loss of Pat, we celebrate a life well-lived. Her memory will live on in the hearts of the many people she touched. May she rest in eternal peace.
