Francis Mwai death and memorial service
It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Francis Mwai on Sunday, January 12, 2025. Francis is very new to Canada, having arrived in Ontario in May 2023. He is survived by his mother and a younger brother.
Thank you for your compassion, prayers and support as we rally around this family in their time of grief and need. On behalf of Francis’s family, the organizing committee is appealing for your support to cover the cost of repatriating Francis’s body to Kenya to rest in his homeland.

A requiem mass and fundraiser will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, starting at 7 pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 520 Sherbourne St, Toronto, ON M4X 1K8.
In addition, there will be a memorial service, fundraiser and body viewing will on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Ahadi Community Church Hall, 1695 Dufferin St, Toronto, ON M6E 3N9 starting at 1 pm (viewing) and the service at 2 pm.
