Rev. Samuel Ndirangu death and funeral

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many, Rev. Samuel Ndirangu passed away on February 20, 2022 in Toronto, Canada after a short illness. He was born on July 5, 1943 to the late James Mwangi Kagui and the late Hannah Wambui Maruguti.

Uncle Sam, as he was popularly known, schooled at Karima Primary and Nyeri High School. He graduated from Kenyatta Teachers College and later the University of Nairobi. He also has a diploma from Exeter College in the United Kingdom. His career highlights include various positions at the Kenya Ministry of Education, as the Education Attaché at Kenyan Embassy in USA and as the Managing Director of a Magazine Publishing and Photo Printing business. He later worked at the Coco-Cola Canadian Headquarters until his retirement. In his retirement, he worked at Primerica as a Financial Advisor.

He was actively involved in several community organizations, notably as a Pastor at the Kenya Global Church, a former President and founding member of Nyumba Community Association, and as a founding board member of the Kenya Community Association of Ontario.

Rev. Sam is survived by his wife Rev. Eunice Ndirangu and his children Pauline Ndirangu, Peris Ndirangu, James Ndirangu and Anthony Ndirangu. He was grandfather to Isabella Waringa. He was a sibling to the late Godfrey Nderitu, John Wambugu, the late Grace Wanjiku, Jane Muringi, Linus Maina, and Mary Wakarima. He was a step-son to Jane Mwangi and step-brother to the late Francis Ndirangu, Michael Kimando and Elizabeth Wanjiku.

Memorial service, funeral and interment

A zoom memorial service for Rev. Samuel Ndirangu was held on Wednesday Feb 23, 2022 at 07:00 pm Eastern Time (US and Canada), 03:00 AM East Africa Time-Kenya.

Visitation and funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at the McEachnie Funeral Home at 28 Old Kingston Rd, Ajax, ON L1T 2Z7 Ontario. Visitation hours are 9:00am to 10:30am Eastern time, and the service begins at 10:30am to 12:30am Eastern Time. Burial will follow right after at Pine Ridge Memorial Gardens in Ajax; address 1757 Church St N, Ajax, ON L1T 4R3.
