Celebrating the life of Anthony ‘Spencer’ Kabugi

We are sad to announce the death of our dear son, brother and friend Anthony “Spencer” Kabugi [1961-2020] in Toronto, Canada.

Spencer, as he was commonly known, arrived in Canada 16 years ago from the United States and lived in Toronto until his death on October 16, 2020.

Spencer had been unwell for a long time. He first developed kidney problems while living in the USA and was undergoing treatment there. He continued with treatment in Canada and eventually had a kidney transplant. His health improved for about 4 years, until last year September when he got sick again. He has been receiving treatment, including admission at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, where he passed away on the 16th.

Spencer’s family cannot travel to Canada due to COVID-19 restrictions, and so his close friend Maya Nderitu is handling funeral arrangements and the shipping of his remains to Kenya. We are therefore appealing to well-wishers to support us financially.

Please send contributions to [email protected]. Every donation makes a difference.

There will be a celebration of Spencer’s life tomorrow October 23rd 2020 at 10 am at Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home & Chapel located at 467 Sherbourne St. Toronto, ON M4X 1K5. In compliance with Public Health guidelines, attendance is capped at 20.

Funeral details in Kenya will be announced later.

Our condolences to the Kibugi family.
